Tim
Quinn, a native Marylander, combines a strong business sense with
a long commitment to community service. He has developed a reputation
as someone who seeks the opinions of a wide spectrum of knowledgeable
people in the community then weighs the input before developing his
own policy positions on critical issues. Tim was born August 6, 1950,
fifth in a clan of six children. He graduated from St. Ambrose Elementary,
Cheverly, Maryland(1964), Archbishop John Carroll High School, Washington,
DC(1968) and Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts(1973)
with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science. He also took
two semesters of Paralegal Studies at the University of Maryland.
and studied acting at the Studio and Source Theaters in Washington
DC.
After
founding Mr. Pizza Man, an extremely successful family door to door
pizza route business throughout Montgomery, Prince Georges, Calvert
and Anne Arundel counties, Tim decided that it was time for him to
entertain people. He became an active member of the AFTRA/SAG acting
unions and performed in film, television and on stage until 1989.
During this
period, Tim was also active with the Marlboro Boys/Girls Club, Upper
Marlboro, Maryland, as a youth football and girls basketball head
coach. During his 5 years there they won nine Prince Georges County
Championships.
Tim
was a paralegal in New York City with Simpson, Thatcher and Bartlett
for three years, and Coding Manager for Uniscribe Professional Services,
in Gaithersburg, Maryland, supervising over fifty coders who provided
interactive litigation support for numerous law firms.
Now residing in Easton, Maryland
with his life partner of fourteen years and their rescued dalmatian,
Tim is co-owner of Legal Spirits Tavern, a well-known Easton restaurant.
He has also been actively involved in the Talbot County Chamber
of Commerce and the Knights of Columbus. Tim was pivotal in the
outside dining initiative designed to bring more foot traffic to
downtown Easton. Tim plans to work to keep Maryland a good place
to do business and to provide the housing, jobs and education which
will enable the children of Eastern Shore families to remain in
their home communities.
